Pathologist Charles Schirmer, M.D.; Moore Regional Hospital Chief Operating Officer Brian Canfield; and pathologist Henry Marrow, M.D. (from left), admire the Patriot Award presented to Elise Forest, (at center), clinical laboratory director at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. Forest received the award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office, in recognition of her support of Sgt. David Spencer, a FirstHealth laboratory technician currently on active duty with the U.S. Army Reserve in Operation Enduring Freedom. The recognition goes to individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees who have answered their nation’s call to duty by encouraging their efforts to serve their country. Forest was nominated by Spencer, who is also a laboratory non-commissioned officer with the Army Reserves.
