PINEHURST – Roxanne Elliott, policy director for FirstHealth Community Health Services, has joined the advisory board of Hospital Charitable Services Awards, a national program sponsored by Jackson Healthcare.
Elliott will join five existing board members to provide direction for the organization’s awards program. Like the other board members, she will represent hospital community programs that are past Hospital Charitable Services Award winners.
In her role with FirstHealth, Elliott works in conjunction with community partners to develop and implement plans for policy work at the local, state and federal levels in the areas of access to care, men’s health, mental health, tobacco, health disparities and obesity prevention. She has oversight responsibility for data tracking and identifying areas of opportunity with regards to community health initiatives, implementation of outreach programs, and coordination of marketing campaigns and evaluation of programs.
Under Elliott, FirstHealth’s community diabetes program, FirstReach, was named a 2013 Program of Excellence.
“We are very pleased to have Roxanne join our advisory board,” said Bob Schlotman, chief marketing officer of Jackson Healthcare. “Her wealth of practical experience in leading community health programs will provide significant guidance in the future direction of the Hospital Charitable Services Awards program.”
Established in 2010, the Hospital Charitable Services Awards honors hospital-sponsored community benefit and outreach programs that impact communities through education, access and delivery. The main goals of the program are to raise the level of awareness of hospital charitable services in the U.S. and to reward and recognize outreach programs with measurable impact.
