On Feb. 23, 10 young people attended a Safe Sitter class at East Middle School in Biscoe. The class, arranged through Communities In Schools and sponsored by the FirstHealth Montgomery Foundation, was taught by Michelle Bennett and Ashley Atkinson of FirstHealth Corporate Education. Designed to teach safe babysitting skills to adolescents, the class included instruction on how to deal with medical emergencies, accident prevention, CPR for infant and child, tips for handling specific ages, safety for the sitter and basic information about the business of babysitting.
