FirstHealth of the Carolinas implements visitation restrictions

| Date Posted: 12/11/2012

PINEHURST – FirstHealth of the Carolinas is asking for the community’s cooperation to limit the spread of the flu.  In an effort to protect patients, visitors and staff, FirstHealth asks that the community adhere to the following precautions when visiting the hospital:

-Please visit immediate family only
-Do not allow children under the age of 12 to visit the hospital
-Do not visit anyone in the hospital if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue

Remember to wash your hands, and cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing to prevent the spread of these infections.

The visitor restrictions apply at all FirstHealth hospitals: Moore Regional, Montgomery Memorial and Richmond Memorial. Patients are asked to adhere to the restrictions when visiting any area of the hospital including rehabilitation and outpatient clinics.

“We appreciate the community’s cooperation as we implement visitor restrictions to prevent the spread of the flu,” says Jayne Lee, R.N., director of infection control and patient safety at Moore Regional. “We apologize for the inconvenience that the visitor limitations may cause to family members and friends, but we feel this measure is a necessary precaution to protect patients.”
