PINEHURST – Weather was not a factor for the kids who turned out to participate in the Fourth Annual FirstHealth of the Carolinas Youth Triathlon. A total of 214 children competed in four races in distances based upon their ages.
Children who received trophies or ribbons based on results of the 2011 Youth Triathlon at the FirstHealth Center for Health & Fitness-Pinehurst are pictured as follows: (first row from left) Gabriella Luneau, Emma Sawicki, Maia Ciccarello, Brook LaFrenz, Liam McKewan, Will Miller, Thaomai Nguygen, Zach Gulnac and Gavin Greim; and (second row from left) Gabby Wood, Will Cooper, Morgan Davis, Madison Peterson, Patrik Luneau, Tyler Gulnac, Quinten Wood, Cade McLaughlin and Ben Hollrah. Caden Tolentino, Paige Tolentino, Riley Pittman, Kylie McLaughlin, Hudson Grace Atkinson and Wyatt Morris are not pictured.
Competing on a closed course that included a pool swim, closed-course bike race and a trail run surrounding the campus of FirstHealth Center for Health & Fitness-Pinehurst, the children – and their parents – had a great time enjoying the outdoors and cheering each other on.
