West Montgomery High School art student Sharon Sides is recognized for her winning T-shirt design created for FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital’s Teddy Bear Affair. The annual event, which was held this year on May 10 and 11, prepares Montgomery County first-graders for what they might expect to encounter if they should have to go to the hospital. They also learn about dental care and poison control, and enjoy a tour of an ambulance. Along with having her design printed on T-shirts for the first-graders, Sides received a $50 award for her first-place design work from TR Screening of Troy. She is pictured with her graphics art teacher, Roy Beamon.
