Open positions at firsthealth moore regional hospital
CAT SCAN: Volunteers needed to meet and greet and assist patients.
ESCORT GUIDE: This is an active volunteer position assisting with the entrance process and escorting patients and visitors to their destinations. Standing and walking is required.
SHUTTLE VAN: Driver needed for courtesy shuttle to and from the visitor parking lot and main hospital entrance.
GOLF CART: Volunteer drivers needed to assist patients and families with transportation needs at the Outpatient and Reid Heart Center entrances.
HELP (Hospital Elder Life Program): Volunteers visit patients enrolled in the program and are trained to provide assistance with orienting, therapeutic activities, walking and/or exercising and feeding. This is a great position for someone who enjoys direct interaction with older patients and who can provide empathetic support, companionship and information for older adult patients and families coping with acute illness and hospitalization.
OUTPATIENT SERVICES: Volunteer support needed to assist patients and staff in the admission process. This is an active position that includes escorting and wheelchair transporting duties.
SURGICAL ADMISSION UNIT: Volunteers meet, greet and escort surgical waiting families to the appropriate waiting area. Volunteers will also assist with restocking supplies and prepping rooms for patients. This is a great job for individuals who enjoy walking and meeting new people.
SURGICAL WAITING: Surgical Waiting volunteers serve as a liaison between surgical services and visitors waiting on patients in surgery. This position involves telephone communication, interaction with families and basic computer skills.
PATIENT REGISTRATION: Volunteers greet and transport patients to be admitted for hospital services. This position involves walking, standing and utilizing a wheelchair.
INFUSION: Infusion voluteers assist staff by preparing the treatment areas between patients, providing comfort to patients, and running errands to and from the main hospital. This is a very active position that involves walking and standing.
TOYMAKERS: Join the dedicated group of stitchers who make soft toys given to each child who is a patient at FirstHealth. We need cutters, stuffers and sewers on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays.
Volunteers participate in a placement interview and a general orientation. Additional pre-requisities, including some vaccines, are required.
