Our comprehensive and individualized nursing orientation program is designed to assist you settle into your new role.
New nurses who are fresh out of nursing school are enrolled in FirstHealth’s R.N. Residency program upon hire. The R.N. Residency program provides an opportunity for new nurse graduates to be supported and integrated into the hospital culture as they transition from student to registered nurse. Through formal and clinical education, the program focuses on strengthening proficiency and ensuring the nurse’s role in patient safety and outcomes. All new graduate nurses at FirstHealth must participate in the nurse residency program. The program is 12 months in length and has two cycles: July and February.
We want you to reach your full potential as a nurse and we’re eager to support you on your journey. 57% of FirstHealth nurses have obtained their Bachelors of Nursing degree. Our Clinical Practice and Professional Development department is available to mentor and guides you through the process of earning your BSN.
