Whether coming up with innovative ideas in the hard candy industry as CEO of Charms Candy Company in the 1960s – or making a hard and fast commitment to help bring innovative health care services to the mid-Carolinas today, Walter Reid will be thought of as a true leader in many ways. Fifty years ago he was the first to put chewing gum at the heart of a lollipop. Thirty-four years ago he joined Hal Stevens as one of the first Scroll Society members on their quest to ensure the financial security of our health system. Most recently, he is the first in line to spearhead the funding of a new state-of-the-art Heart Hospital. Thanks to the generous contributions of many individuals like Walter and Betty Reid, FirstHealth will continue to be thought of as a true leader in the field of medicine.

    Expectant parents will learn the benefits of breastfeeding, positions to use while breastfeeding, feeding patterns, pumping and introduction of bottles.

    The goal of the class is to provide specific information about the latter stages of pregnancy, labor and delivery, a tour of the Women and Children’s center, as well as what to expect following delivery.
