Whether playing bridge with friends or greeting patients and visitors with a friendly smile as a guest services volunteer at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Barbara Grant has always considered her relationship to her community as a long-term commitment. 

For nearly a quarter of a century, she has pushed wheelchairs, conducted patient interviews and worked in the office. She likes patient contact the best, however, and has earned her spot at the front desk, where she has served since 2003.

Thanks to Barbara’s spirit of volunteerism, all of the people who enter the hospital when she is on duty feel like they have a winning hand.
