EIM is a physician-referral program hosted by the FirstHealth Centers for Health & Fitness. In partnership with your physician, participants meet with an exercise specialist to develop goals and receive an Exercise Prescription along with a two-week complimentary membership in the FirstHealth fitness center of your choice.
In 2011, The Foundation distributed $430,652 to purchase the Technogym Wellness System that is at the heart of Exercise is medicine. While the EIM program encourages a patient and his personal physician to partner in an exercise plan geared toward improving the patient’s health, Technogym provides the technology for ensuring that the patient safely follows his personal “exercise prescription.”
Participation is free
There are no charges for the patient’s visits with the exercise specialist, and the patient’s insurance will not be billed. The only costs that will incur are for patients who choose fee services, such as membership, personal training and personal nutrition counseling.
