The 2018 Montgomery Spring Event supported the MARCHES (Montgomery Active Recreation Through Community-Healthcare Engagements) program and specific initiatives needed to support the health of our families in Montgomery County.
Proceeds from the Spring Event will build a walking trail on the campus of the Biscoe Community Center for the MARCHES program; purchase program supplies to assist with operational needs; and provide family incentives such as gas cards for transportation to program activities and groceries to take home from cooking demonstrations. Last year we successfully raised enough funds to build two new trails for The Daily Mile. A health future begins here!
MARCHES is a free program for the entire family. Families with children between the ages of 10-14 years old who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) at or above the 85th percentile will qualify for the program. A variety of activities including sports, games, cooking classes, gardening and more will be offered during the program.
