FirstHealth Habitat Build Days
FirstHealth has reserved one day a month as FirstHealth Build Days with Habitat for Humanity of the N.C. Sandhills. Participants will finish the day with a full heart knowing that they have helped build a home for a well-deserved family in the community. So grab your favorite FirstHealth team members and enjoy a fun team-building day!

Full-time, three-quarter-time and half-time employees are eligible to receive one hour of PTO for each two hours of volunteer time with Habitat for Humanity. For additional information, please contact Melinda Smith (Benefits).

How many people can sign up for a FirstHealth Habitat Build Day?
There are 12 spots reserved for FirstHealth Build Days.
How long will you be there?
The day starts at 8 a.m. and will end at 1 p.m. Water is available on site and a snack will be provided around 10 a.m.
What do you need to bring with you?
Bring work gloves if you have them. If not, some will be available onsite. Tools are not needed.
What should you wear?
It is suggested that volunteers wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.
Can multiple departments come together to form a team?
Yes. FirstHealth Build days are for all FirstHealth team members and do not need to be limited to departments.
When will you know the location of the build?
All Habitat Build Days will take place in Moore County. The address for your location will be available on the sign up page. If it is not yet listed, Habitat will update it as you get closer to your build day.
What type of work will you be doing?
Since many factors play into how the project progresses, you will not know what type of work you will be doing on your build day. There are professionals on site to assist you, so you do not need any construction experience.
How do you sign up?
Click here to sign up and follow the steps below. Once you are logged in, you will be able to see all dates reserved for FirstHealth Employees. Click on the date you are interested in and then click “Sign Up”. On this page you will also be able to see who has already signed up, the address of the build and how many volunteer slots are remaining for that date.

Do we need to sign up by a certain date?
To allow Habitat to plan for enough volunteers, we ask that you sign up at least 7 days prior to the build day.
Can my family member join my on the build day?
Yes, as long as they are 16 or older. They will use the same link to register themselves. Any volunteers that are 16 or 17, will need to print out the waiver, have a guardian sign, and bring a hard copy the day of the build.
