FirstHealth of the Carolinas is pleased to welcome Tania Oliveira, DNP, FNP-BC, CCM, CARN, to its team of providers at FirstHealth Primary Care-Pinehurst.

Oliveira, a board certified family nurse practitioner, joins Peter Dorton, M.D., and Brianne Evans, PA-C, and will focus on prevention, women’s health and chronic disease management.

Oliveira earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Family Primary Care from the University of Utah, completing diverse rotations across primary care, pediatrics, urgent care, women’s health and veterans’ health services. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Exercise Science from Brigham Young University.

Her clinical interests are rooted in helping patients live full, healthy lives. “I love preventive care — being in tune with your body as it ages is key to preventing chronic diseases and improving quality of life,” said Oliveira. “I’m also passionate about women’s health, empowering women to make informed choices about their health and well-being.”

It was my first exam at a FirstHealth facility and was my introduction to Tania Oliveira. Given those parameters it was a good exchange and we both learned much about the other. I was impressed with Dr. Oliveira's (she is a DNP) questions and comments. I also felt that she was listening to my information because of her probing responses. Given that this was our first meeting, I was very satisfied with the interaction between us. I believe we will have a long and profitable relationship and look forward to our next appointment this fall.

I was a new patient to the practice, so I wouldn't expect them to know or have access to all my medical records. I didn't know how far the clinic is from my house; and the location of the clinic is hard to get to.

Tania and the whole staff was amazing. This is the first time in years that I have been able to sit down, not have to worry about rushing, and a doctor or nurse practitioner actually listening to me and understanding what I'm wanting to have done. So I thought they did a great job.

Tania Oliveira was kind and professional. I liked the way she really listened to me. She was not in a rush to prescribe medication for something I may be able to manage behaviorally and she suggested a course of action and a follow up appointment in a few months. I feel confident in her as my primary care provider.

I'm brand new to the area so she could not know my medical history but from the receptionist to checkout it was a really good experience. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I loved the nurse and the doctor. So professional. I will go back there. My husband will be going there too. Thanks First Health.
