FirstHealth of the Carolinas is pleased to welcome Tania Oliveira, DNP, FNP-BC, CCM, CARN, to its team of providers at FirstHealth Primary Care-Pinehurst.

Oliveira, a board certified family nurse practitioner, joins Peter Dorton, M.D., and Brianne Evans, PA-C, and will focus on prevention, women’s health and chronic disease management.

Oliveira earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Family Primary Care from the University of Utah, completing diverse rotations across primary care, pediatrics, urgent care, women’s health and veterans’ health services. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Exercise Science from Brigham Young University.

Her clinical interests are rooted in helping patients live full, healthy lives. “I love preventive care — being in tune with your body as it ages is key to preventing chronic diseases and improving quality of life,” said Oliveira. “I’m also passionate about women’s health, empowering women to make informed choices about their health and well-being.”

This was the best experience with the FirstHealth provider since I have been going to FirstHealth providers for the last 20 years. My provider Tania Oliveira listen to me and explained to me my blood work results, reviewed my history with Current medications also listen to my questions and explain in detail what the answer answers to my questions. Treated with respect and I'll definitely be back!

I was really impressed by the way she got right to the referral. I wasn't out the door maybe 15 minutes and I got a call from a place that she had referred me to, even though it was in Hamlet, and I had them rerouted back to Pinehurst. So I was really impressed. So I really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Dr. Tania was an excellent, excellent visit. I think one of the better visits that I've had. Granted, I'm used to visiting the VA medical care, so that's not really the best. But also prior to visiting the VA and dealing with military health care system, I never really had such a great experience with health care providers. But what I did with Dr. Tania, it was awesome. And it actually made me like, okay, I feel comfortable about telling this woman everything that's in my medical history and that I know that she's going to help me. So yes, it was a fantastic time.

The provider did not know my medical history because I was a first-time patient. The phlebotomist left much to be desired. She was in and out of the room multiple times while I was sitting there and never made eye contact or said hello. Very, very abrupt and not the least bit pleasant.
