FirstHealth of the Carolinas is pleased to welcome family nurse practitioner Kathy Talbert to the care team at FirstHealth Internal Medicine-Hamlet.
Talbert, ANCC-FNP, earned her Master of Science in Nursing in 2021 from Walsh University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Appalachian State University.
Talbert has a long history of patient care in the Sandhills and beyond and previously worked as a nurse at FirstHealth of the Carolinas in the 2010s.
“My philosophy of care is to provide each patient with compassionate, patient-centered care and the necessary tools and support needed to achieve their best quality of life. I look forward to being able to do this in Hamlet,” Talbert said. “I am a helper. I enjoy taking care of people and working in health care is the best way to accomplish that.”
Talbert said she was inspired to pursue a career in medicine after beginning her educational journey studying science.
“My love of biology and the way the human body works led me toward the medical field,” she said. “My desire to help and see people live their best life helped solidify the draw to health care.”
Outside of work, Talbert said she enjoys music, puzzles, traveling and new adventures. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, son and dog.
