FirstHealth of the Carolinas is pleased to welcome certified family nurse practitioner Miyah Perry to FirstHealth Family Medicine – Pinnacle located in Fayetteville. Perry, who is joining John M. Ray, Jr., M.D., and Bria Hicks, NP, is excited to join the FirstHealth team and looks forward to serving patients in Cumberland County.
“I was drawn to FirstHealth because of its commitment to providing quality care for people,” said Perry. “I am eager to help patients navigate their health care with clarity and confidence, promoting healthy living.”
Perry brings a wealth of knowledge and over a decade of experience to her new role. Growing up in a military family in Fayetteville, Perry earned her associate degree in EMS from Fayetteville Technical Community College in 2009 and proudly served Cumberland and Hoke County EMS for nearly 10 years. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of North Carolina-Pembroke in 2016, before earning her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of South Alabama in Mobile, Al.
She most recently served as a family nurse practitioner at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. She has specialized in urgent care, chronic disease management, peri-operative optimization, post-operative recovery, wound management, trauma care, surgical care and common illnesses.
She prides herself on her ability to foster trust and put her patients’ needs first.
“I prioritize clear, compassionate communication to build trust and ensure patients feel heard and understood,” she said.
Outside of work, Perry said she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, weightlifting, going to the beach and drinking coffee. She recently started running 5Ks and hopes to run a marathon one day.
