Matheson McDonald, PA-C, is a dedicated hospitalist who believes great care starts with truly listening. With a background in both clinical medicine and public health, she takes a whole-person approach, making sure patients feel heard, understood and supported every step of the way.
A magna cum laude graduate of Campbell University, Matheson brings experience across internal medicine, emergency care, cardiology, pediatrics and more. She has a special passion for serving rural and underserved communities, where she’s helped improve access to care, guide patients through complex health decisions, and even support the growth of palliative care services.
Known for her calm, approachable style, Matheson works closely with patients, families and care teams to create clear plans and better outcomes both in the hospital and beyond. Her goal is simple: to treat every patient like a neighbor and help them feel confident in their care.
