A Raleigh native, Ramaswamy earned her medical degree from DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University.

She completed her master's in Global Health Studies at Georgetown University and received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Studies from East Carolina University. Ramaswamy also completed a family medicine residency at Southern Regional AHEC in Fayetteville in June 2024.

Ramaswamy said she is excited to join the Family Medicine team and looks forward to serving patients. “I am excited to be at FirstHealth because of the culture, community and family atmosphere the care team provides,” she said.

Ramaswamy said the inspiration to pursue her medical degree came during her time at Georgetown.

“My ‘Aha!’ moment came during my time in graduate school for global health. I realized I had a deep passion for patient education, and family medicine is all about education and focusing on community needs,” she said. “It was the best decision I’ve ever made.”

Outside of work, Ramaswamy said she loves to spend time with family and her new puppy. She also loves to read, hike, walk and swim.

This appointment was the first time that I or my child had met Dr. R and she was so attentive and asked really, really great questions. I appreciated the fact that she spoke directly to my son and asked him questions to build rapport with him and she also let me add my input after and during our conversation with my son. It was just an overall very good experience and then I appreciated her putting in the referral quickly and followed up with a message because I had a request about the referral and she followed up with me very quickly. I am really, really, really happy that we are going to be assigned to Dr. R and we look forward to working with her and seeing her again. I feel like

VERY Unusual setup building setup - from right to Left structure holds a Gym - GOOD, a Dollar General on the Left...? and a convenient care WITH THE FAMILY PRACTICE in the same office. The Dr, we love. Followed her to this location from First Health Seven Lakes Office despite the added distance

Kim has been my MA for years and remembers my health history and very thorough preparing for provider. First time seeing Dr. Ramaswamy and I was impressed with her thoroughness, compassion, understanding concerns as well as explaining previous labs and current recommendations. I was very impressed with this visit from the front office, Chelsea to MA, Kim (although new to working with this provider, extremely seamless) to provider, Dr. R (I never felt rushed and felt she truly looked at my whole health) to phlebotomist,(I am a difficult stick and she nailed it).

I can't say enough good things about my provider! She is absolutely wonderful. Every visit feels personal and never rushed - she gives me her full attention and genuinely takes the time to listen to all of my concerns. She always comes prepared, knowledgeable about my history, and ready to discuss the next steps. I really appreciate how she celebrates even the small wins and encourages the progress I'm making with my health. She takes the time to explain things clearly, answers all of my questions (even the ones I feel silly asking), and walks me through the pros and cons of different options so I can make informed decisions. I always leave my appointments feeling heard, understood, and confident in my care.

Dr. Ramaswamy was so kind and thorough in talking through all of my concerns and making a plan of care. I was very pleasantly surprised. This is a great primary care office, and I'd recommend this location in general and Dr. Ramaswamy in particular to anyone looking for a PCP.

Dr Ramaswamy is a fantastic doctor...she listens to and discusses my concerns, gives wonderful guidance and is eager to research unfamiliar issues that I bring her way. If unsure, she refers me to the appropriate place to get an answer.
