A native North Carolinian who grew up in Cary, Dr. Richards received a bachelor’s degree in finance from East Carolina University magna cum laude with honors. After earning her medical degree from University of North Carolina School of Medicine, she completed her family medicine residency training at Duke/Southern Regional AHEC in Fayetteville.  A dedicated and compassionate physician, Dr. Richards brings years of experience in family medicine to her work in medical weight management.  Dr. Richards offers convenient virtual appointments for added flexibility.

Dr. Richards was professional and kind. I was very impressed with her attentiveness and thoroughness. I never felt rushed or that my concerns weren't valid. She provided excellent education to me as the patient. There is so much I learned. I've never had a provider take the time to actually teach me. She did not make me feel uncomfortable and at no point did she cause me to feel shame. I've felt a lot of shame about my weight in the past and she validated my concerns.

Terrible location. Using the diabetes education office as medical office was a joke. My vitals and weight were taken in a conference room at the conference table. Not to mention the fact the signage was poor outside the building. Essentially hard to find. Had to walk down a sketchy side alley to enter. All, I'm told, to secure rural clinic medication pricing from the government to improve profit/loss metrics. The inconvenience to the patient doesn't appear to matter.
