Patients with neurology needs can now see certified physician assistant Amy Gonzales at FirstHealth’s clinic in Chatham County.

Gonzales is board certified and has more than 16 years of health care experience in neurology, psychiatry and pain management.

Gonzales graduated from D’Youville University in Buffalo, New York, in 2008. Before becoming a physician assistant, she worked as a cardiac ultrasonographer.

“It is an honor to provide care to patients, and I take pride in connecting with my patients and fostering strong relationships built on trust and communication,” she said.

“I believe that treatment is a collaborative process and make that the foundation of my approach.”

Outside of work, Gonzales says she enjoys sports and spending time with her family.

Amy and her team are always polite and helpful. Amy listens and hears everything I am saying. She dies a great job of explaining things in a way that makes medical jargon easy to understand and allows her patients to speak their mind making the patient doctor relationship feel like a true partnership. I find her care and her team to be a breath of fresh air. I love her new nursing team. I would give all them a 11 out of ten. Thank you ?

Amy was very knowledgeable and actually took the time needed for the appt. My prior neurologist spent maximum 30mins a visit but she spent as much time as necessary which I appreciated.

Miss Amy made me feel comfortable and so did the nurse. I need this help and I think what I've done I've done the right thing and the doctor herself she made me feel good. I could talk to her. She kind of knew what was going on with my body so I will give her more time and the more she does as she does as much as she did when I walked in that door then we'll be OK together she's 100% a good person so far.

Amy is the best of the best without a doubt. She listens intently to what I have to say. She knows my medical history and she takes excellent care of me! I wouldn't have anybody else but her!

Yes, at the window coming in, they helped out quite a bit. There was plenty of things to be done. And then the nurse, she did a great job. And then when Amy come in, Amy was real nice, real nice person, gave good information and listened to whatever you had to say. Thank you.
