Patients with neurology needs can now see certified physician assistant Amy Gonzales at FirstHealth’s clinic in Chatham County.

Gonzales is board certified and has more than 16 years of health care experience in neurology, psychiatry and pain management.

Gonzales graduated from D’Youville University in Buffalo, New York, in 2008. Before becoming a physician assistant, she worked as a cardiac ultrasonographer.

“It is an honor to provide care to patients, and I take pride in connecting with my patients and fostering strong relationships built on trust and communication,” she said.

“I believe that treatment is a collaborative process and make that the foundation of my approach.”

Outside of work, Gonzales says she enjoys sports and spending time with her family.

Yes, I'd like to say thank you, thank you very much to my nurse, doctor, both ladies. I mean, I just cannot believe the service, the attention, and making you feel welcome. I mean, all of you did it. The nurse and the nurses and the, I don't know who's who, okay? But the ladies that were in the office with me, they need a raise, okay? And the people at the desk in the front, they need hugs and love and respect for the way they treat the people coming in and out of the door. I am so thankful God put me in touch with this family of medicine and I appreciate it to everyone.

Amy made me feel calm right away, explained exactly what I should be doing with meds and was able to get the meds without having to worry when I should be receiving them on time

Very efficient and personable staff. My concerns were addressed better than I had imagined. It's difficult to admit failing memory and organizational skills. Compassionate, insightful provider, Amy, made the process easy and immediately implemented the necessary "next steps".

I love Amy Gonzales P.A.C . and her staff! Amy is very compassionate , very caring, and she listens ! She goes above and beyond to make you "feel better" . She's very professional, knowledgeable , and provides the best plan for your care . Her staff is very kind and compassionate too :)
