Bio

A research nurse in FirstHealth Clinical Trials, Lori DeSpain earned her associate degree in nursing from Central Carolina Community College and is currently working toward her B.S. degree in nursing at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She began her nursing career on the inpatient surgical unit, first working as a nursing assistant, then as a licensed practical nurse, staff registered nurse and finally charge nurse. She has also worked with FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care and as a staff nurse/charge nurse with Inpatient Oncology and Radiation Therapy at Moore Regional Hospital. Before taking her current position with Clinical Trials, she was a staff nurse with the FirstHealth Back & Neck Pain Center at Moore Regional, where she became certified in pain management.
