Bio

Angie Hewett, CMA, is one of the Bariatric Patient Navigators at FirstHealth Bariatrics.  As a Bariatric Patient Navigator, she helps patients by guiding them through the post-operative process after bariatric surgery.  This includes assisting patients with appointments and answering post-operative questions.

Angie graduated in 2008 from Montgomery Community College with an associate of applied science degree in medical assisting and is certified nationally with the American Association of Medical Assistants.  She joined Pinehurst Surgical’ s General Surgery Department in February of 2016 as Dr. Grantham’s lead certified medical assistant, and transitioned to her new role as Bariatric Patient Navigator in July of 2018.  Prior to her role as Bariatric Patient Navigator, Angie worked at Southern Pines Women’s Health Center. She also has experience working in home health care and pediatrics.
