Reducing the time patients remain in the emergency department (ED) can improve access to treatment and increase quality of care. Reducing this time potentially improves access to care specific to the patient condition and increases the capability to provide additional treatment.
The rates displayed in these graphs are from data reported for discharges April 1, 2016 through June 30, 2016.
Median time from ED arrival to ED departure for admitted ED patients - overall
- This meassures shows the median time in minutes from emergency department arrival to time of departure from the emergency room for patients who were admitted to the hospital from the emergency department.
Admit decision time to ED departure time for admitted patients - overall rate
- This measure shows the median time in mintues from the time a decision to admit the patient to the hospital was made to the time the patient left the emergency department.
