Compassionate Social Worker Melissa Golzio Joins FirstHealth Behavioral Services

Headshot of Melissa GolzioPINEHURST, N.C. – FirstHealth is pleased to welcome Melissa Golzio, LCSW, LCAS, to our Behavioral Health Services team serving patients in Moore County.

Golzio is both a licensed clinical social worker and licensed clinical addictions specialist.

Golzio earned her Master of Social Work with a concentration in mental health and substance abuse from Fayetteville State University and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She has previously served patients at Daymark Recovery Services in Sanford.

Golzio said she loves interacting with patients and helping them grow.

“I love being a facilitator of change for any patient I see. Watching people recover, grow and thrive is incredibly inspiring,” she said.

“I approach therapy with deep empathy, cultural humility and a collaborative spirit. I see my role not as a fixer but as a guide who helps patients uncover their own strengths, challenge unhelpful patterns and move toward more balanced and healthier lives.”

Growing up in a military family, Golzio said she always wanted to find ways to give back to her community through service. “Working in health care felt like a way that I could make an impact,” she noted.

Outside of work, Golzio enjoys reading, collecting and playing trading card games and having fun by doing her own manicures.
