ROCKINGHAM, N.C. – With a focus on building healthy lifestyles, FirstHealth’s Richmond Memorial Hospital Foundation and Discovery Place Kids – Rockingham are joining forces once again for the Healthy Richmond Fun Run and 5K.
Scheduled for Oct. 4, 2025, the race features a challenging course through downtown Rockingham down to Hitchcock Creek and back, starting and finishing at Discovery Place Kids – Rockingham.
The fun run is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., with the 5K starting at 9:30 a.m.

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Richmond Memorial Hospital Foundation and Discovery Place Kids – Rockingham.
Kids Day activities will be held in conjunction with the race from 8 to 11 a.m., and all race participants will have access to Discovery Place Kids – Rockingham.
“We are excited to bring this family-fun event to downtown Rockingham once again, and it’s one of the many ways our Foundation and Discovery Place Kids can promote fitness, healthy eating and healthy lifestyle education,” said Ron Ballard, the chairman of the Richmond Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Angela Watkins, director of Discovery Place Kids – Rockingham, said families can enjoy the race and plenty of fun before and after.
“We are expecting great fall weather and can’t wait to see everyone on Oct. 4,” Watkins said. “It’s always special to see our community come together for great causes.”
