Healthgrades Names Moore Regional a 2025 Outstanding Patient Experience Award Recipient

PINEHURST, N.C. – FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, including its Hoke and Richmond campuses, has been recognized as a 2025 Outstanding Patient Experience Award recipient by Healthgrades, the leading resource consumers use to find a hospital or doctor.

Moore Regional has received this award for 18 consecutive years, beginning in 2008. The award reflects the commitment of FirstHealth’s employees, providers and volunteers to providing exceptional care to patients and their loved ones.

"We are thrilled to once again be recognized by Healthgrades as a 2025 Outstanding Patient Experience Award recipient,” said Mickey Foster, MHA, chief executive officer for FirstHealth of the Carolinas.

“Across FirstHealth, we are committed to patient experience, satisfaction and safety each day as we continuously strive to serve our community in better ways.”

Each year, Healthgrades recognizes the top hospitals nationwide that provide an exceptional experience for their patients during their hospital stay. As part of its annual analysis, Healthgrades evaluated more than 3,000 hospitals that submitted at least 100 Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) surveys, covering admissions from January 2023 to December 2023.

To determine the recipients of the Outstanding Patient Experience Award, Healthgrades applies a scoring methodology to 10 patient experience measures. These measures focus on patients’ perceptions of their hospital care, including staff communication, medication explanations and cleanliness.

“The dedicated providers, employees and volunteers who comprise the FirstHealth family are at the heart of this achievement,” added Jonathan Davis, MPH, FACHE, chief operating officer and president of Moore Regional. “Their dedication to delivering compassionate care to those in need is inspiring and serves as the foundation upon which our health system thrives.”

“We commend Moore Regional Hospital for going above and beyond to ensure patients have the best possible experience during their hospital stay and recovery process,” said Debra Gradick, M.D., FACEP, senior physician consultant at Healthgrades. “Better patient experiences lead to better health outcomes, which is why it’s so important for patients to choose a hospital that excels at providing high quality, compassionate care.”
