FirstHealth Names New Montgomery Memorial Hospital President

Kerry HerbineTROY, N.C.– FirstHealth of the Carolinas has named Kerry Paul Herbine, FACHE, as president of FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital (MMH).

“Over the last several months, we had stakeholders interview many candidates through a national search,” said Jonathan S. Davis, FACHE, COO of FirstHealth and president of Moore Regional Hospital.

“I'm thankful for the engagement by so many and honored that Kerry is joining our team. His experience in hospital operations and in building teams will foster a collaborative style within the community. His leadership style comes at a great time, as we begin building a replacement hospital to serve the community for years to come.”

Herbine has held senior hospital management roles for the better part of his career. He is currently the chief executive officer for Community HealthCare System in Onaga, Kan. Community HealthCare System is a not-for-profit health care system that serves rural communities in northeast Kansas.

Herbine has served in this role since April 2024. Prior to his current role, he served three years as the chief operating officer for Lewis County Health System in Lowville, N.Y. He also served as the senior director of diagnostic services at Kingman Regional Medical Center in Kingman, Ariz. Herbine’s career also includes experience in dentistry management and telecommunications.

Herbine holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Oklahoma State University.

He will join FirstHealth on March 31, succeeding current president Becky Carter, MSN, R.N., FACHE.

Herbine and his wife, Jenise, will relocate to North Carolina from Kansas. They have four grown children and two grandchildren.
