HAMLET, N.C. – FirstHealth of the Carolinas is pleased to announce that Evelyn G. Metz, DNP, will begin serving patients at Internal Medicine – Hamlet after spending the last several years as a hospitalist at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, MRH – Richmond, MRH-Hoke and Montgomery Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Metz earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2015 from the University of South Alabama-Mobile and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. She said she found a passion for health care early in life.
“I was age 7 when I knew I wanted to become a doctor,” she said.
“I’m thankful I was able to become a DNP in 2015. It’s an honor to be a part of FirstHealth Physician Group. I can continue serving people in the community to make them feel empowered and be in charge of their health.”
Dr. Metz has a long history of providing exceptional care and said she is thrilled to care for patients in a new way at the clinic in Richmond County.
She will join the practice of Luiz Nascimento, M.D. Metz said outpatient care is an avenue for “health prevention, empowerment and collaboration between providers and their patients.”
“Caring for patients is always a privilege and doing so in the community setting will allow me to build even better relationships. I look forward to caring for people one special moment at a time,” Dr. Metz said.
Outside of work, Dr. Metz enjoys spending time with her husband, adult children and in-laws. She also enjoys gardening, card games, journaling, reading, cooking and being involved at her church.
