Rockingham, N.C. – Pinehurst Surgical Clinic orthopaedic surgeon Alexander C. Lemons, M.D., is expanding access to quality orthopaedic spine care in Richmond County and will now perform surgeries at Moore Regional Hospital – Richmond.
Lemons, who is board certified, earned his medical degree at the University of South Carolina. He completed residency training at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and a fellowship in orthopaedic spine surgery at Twin Cities Spine Center in Minneapolis. In 2023, he was named to the SpineLine 20 under 40 class.
Lemons can treat a variety of spine conditions, including cervical, thoracic and lumbar degenerative disease, spine trauma, adult and pediatric scoliosis, lumbar and cervical stenosis, sciatica and cervical and lumbar disk herniations.
He also performs minimally invasive spine surgery. Lemons said his ability to change lives is something that inspires him.
“While spine surgery can be challenging, you can change someone’s life. I relish the challenge many of my surgeries present but also focus on maintaining a compassionate approach with my patients as I strive to provide excellent care,” Lemons said.
Lemons said he knew early in life that working with his hands would be important to him.
“I worked in construction and landscaping jobs, so it was a natural progression to apply those skills to surgery. Orthopaedic surgeons are sometimes called the carpenters of the body,” he said.
Outside of work, Lemons said he enjoys spending time with his family. “I strive to keep a healthy balance of faith, family and my work. I am an old Davidson College football player, and now I’m enjoying all sports with my wife and three kids,” he said.
