A Woman’s Place in Fayetteville Joins FirstHealth of the Carolinas

Andrea Dickerson, M.D.FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.— A Woman’s Place, a longstanding women’s health practice in Fayetteville, officially joined FirstHealth of the Carolinas on Monday, July 7, 2025.

The practice becomes FirstHealth OB/GYN, continuing to offer comprehensive women’s care from the same trusted providers in the same location.

Andrea Dickerson, M.D., Lakshmi Gordon, M.D., and certified nurse-midwife Nicole Killman will remain with the practice, continuing their commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to women across the region. The clinic will remain at 2053 Valleygate Drive, Suite 201, and the phone number— (910) 484-9020— will also stay the same. Patients’ medical records will remain at the office, ensuring continuity of care.

Lakshmi Gordon, M.D.“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Dickerson, Dr. Gordon and Ms. Killman to the FirstHealth family,” said Dan Barnes, D.O., president of FirstHealth Physician Group.

“They have built a trusted and respected practice, and their commitment to excellence in women’s health aligns perfectly with FirstHealth’s core purpose To Care for People throughout all stages of life.”

In addition to continuing its current services, including acupuncture, the practice will expand to offer urogynecology services with Southern Pines Women’s Health Center at the Fayetteville location, enhancing access to specialized pelvic health care for women.

“As providers, we are proud of the care we’ve delivered at A Woman’s Place and are excited for this next chapter,” said Dickerson. “Joining FirstHealth allows us to grow while staying deeply rooted in the community we serve.”

To support a smooth transition, the practice will operate with limited services July 7–18, 2025, while staff are trained on FirstHealth’s electronic health record, billing and scheduling systems.

Nicole Killman“We understand any change can bring questions,” added Gordon. “But patients can rest assured they’ll see the same familiar faces and receive the same personal attention, now with even more support behind the scenes.”
