LAURINBURG – FirstHealth of the Carolinas is pleased to welcome Amanda Jacobs, FNP, to the team of heart care specialists at FirstHealth Cardiology-Laurinburg.
Originally from Pembroke, N.C., Jacobs brings more than a decade of experience caring for patients in the Laurinburg area and a commitment to community health to her role at FirstHealth.
Jacobs has cultivated a practice philosophy centered on meeting patients where they are.
“Many social determinants of health negatively impact the overall cardiovascular health within our community,” she elaborated. “It is my goal as a cardiology nurse practitioner to promote healthy outcomes through the use of evidence-based interventions and patient education."
Jacobs earned her associate degree in nursing from Robeson Community College and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Fayetteville State University. She earned her master’s degree in nursing, family nurse practitioner from Francis Marion University in Florence, S.C.
Driven by a deep-rooted passion for nursing, Jacobs said she was inspired to pursue an advanced degree in nursing out of a desire to provide culturally competent care of the highest quality to her community.
When she’s not serving her patients, Jacobs enjoys spending time with her husband and children, engaging in family activities and participating in community cultural enrichment programs that promote cultural awareness and preservation for future generations.
“With her experience, compassion and dedication to culturally inclusive practice, Amanda is an asset to the FirstHealth Cardiology team,” said William Harris, M.D., interventional cardiologist and medical director of cardiology for FirstHealth Physician Group.
“We look forward to the continued positive impact she will have on the cardiovascular health of the Sandhills community.”
Amanda Jacobs, FNP, joins a dedicated team of heart specialists at FirstHealth Cardiology-Laurinburg located at 705 B Lauchwood Drive that includes Olujide Lawal, M.D., and Rony Shammas, M.D.
