PINEHURST, N.C. -- Mickey W. Foster, chief executive officer of FirstHealth of the Carolinas since 2019, has been recognized among 160 community hospital CEOs to know by Becker's Hospital Review.
Becker's developed the 2024 list based on nominations and editorial research.
Prior to joining FirstHealth, Foster was president of The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina, and senior vice president for Cone Health from 2014 to 2019. Prior to his role at Moses Cone Hospital, Foster served as president of Cone Health’s Annie Penn Hospital and senior vice president of hospital operations from 2010 to 2014.
Foster is responsible for directing the development and operation of FirstHealth in all activities in coordination with the policies adopted by the Board of Directors.
Foster earned his Bachelor of Science in Community Health from East Carolina University in 1994, where he received the Outstanding Senior Award. He earned a Master of Health Services Administration degree from Central Michigan University in 2000.
