SANFORD— FirstHealth of the Carolinas and Southern Pines Women’s Health Center are excited to announce a new partnership aimed at bolstering OB/GYN services in Lee County and surrounding communities.
Effective April 1, 2024, Southern Pines Women’s Health Center providers Lissette E. Machin, M.D., William V. Terry, M.D., Kendall R. Zmiewsky, M.D., Melissa J. Mang, FNP-C and Sahana R. Sankar, PA-C will join FirstHealth OB/GYN located at 2919 Beechtree Drive, Suite 2100 in Sanford.
Dr. Terry has long provided health care to women in Lee County at FirstHealth OB/GYN. He previously served with Pinehurst Surgical Clinic before transitioning to Southern Pines Women’s Health Center earlier this year.
Joining Dr. Terry at FirstHealth OB/GYN in Sanford are a team of providers that bring a wealth of experience and dedication to women’s health. Together, they will ensure comprehensive, compassionate and personalized OB/GYN care to meet the needs of women across all stages of life.
Dr. Machin recently joined Southern Pines Women’s Health Center but has served the health care needs of women in the Sandhills region for many years. She earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry-New Jersey Medical School and completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital/Elmhurst Hospital in New York.
Dr. Zmiewsky has cared for patients at Southern Pines Women’s Health Center for more than 17 years. She earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine where she also completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency.
Family Nurse Practitioner Melissa Mang joined Southern Pines Women’s Health Center in 2010. She earned her master’s degree in family nurse practitioner from Boston College.
Sahana Sankar earned a Master of Physician Assistant Practice from Campbell University and joined the Southern Pines Women’s Health Center team in July 2022.
