SEVEN LAKES, N.C. -- FirstHealth of the Carolinas is pleased to welcome Lisa Adams, DNP, FNP-C, to the care team at its family medicine clinic in Seven Lakes.
Adams brings many years of experience to Moore County and will join the practice of Tilak Pokharel, M.D. and Jolena Allred, DNP, FNP-C. Adams has most recently served patients as both a FirstHealth hospitalist and float provider in FirstHealth’s primary care clinics.
Prior to that, she served patients for two decades in a family practice office in Pennsylvania. She earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from West Chester University in 2017. Adams said she is looking forward to serving patients in the Sandhills.
“I truly enjoy caring for patients in my community. I practiced in Pennsylvania for more than 20 years and saw patients when they were young and eventually took care of their children,” she said. “I love working with patients and helping people in my community.”
Adams said she knew at a young age that she wanted to work in health care.
“I very much enjoy helping people. As a nurse, I worked in the ICU in Philadelphia for 10 years and then became a nurse practitioner,” she said. “My doctoral studies included how to define the role of the nurse practitioner in the primary care setting, which is especially important meeting the needs of primary care patients around the country.”
Outside of work, Adams said she and her husband enjoy life on the lake, including kayaking and boating. She also enjoys hiking, golf, pickleball, gardening and taking her dogs for walks.
