TROY—Longtime family medicine physician Victor Farrah, D.O., will join the staff at FirstHealth Family Medicine in Troy this summer.
Dr. Farrah comes to Troy after serving as a family medicine physician for 20 years in Davidson County. Prior to that role, he was with a family practice clinic in Rowan County for six years and in his home state of Pennsylvania for 16 years. 
Dr. Farrah grew up in western Pennsylvania. He said he always had a strong interest in medicine and worked as an orderly when he was in high school.
“I always knew I wanted to be a doctor,” he recalled. “I was close with a family physician in my hometown who was extremely encouraging of my interest in medicine and allowed me to do some job shadowing.”
After completing medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Farrah returned to his hometown to serve as a family medicine physician, following in the footsteps of his early mentor.
Over the years, he’s cared for generations of patients, which has allowed him to develop long-lasting relationships with them.
“As a family medicine provider, I have the opportunity to interact with my patients in a way that allows me to treat the whole patient and oftentimes the whole family,” he said. “This is especially important in small towns and in providing care in underserved areas where building trust with a provider is critical.”
At FirstHealth Family Medicine-Troy, Dr. Farrah will provide care for patients of all ages, from babies to grandparents. He specializes in wellness, chronic disease management and whole-person care.
“Taking care of people is a team effort,” he said. “That’s what family practice is all about. I look forward to joining the strong and caring team at FirstHealth.”
Dr. Farrah and his wife, who is from Davidson County, have three grown children and three adored grandchildren. When he’s not caring for patients, he enjoys tennis, golf, hunting and spending time with family. He and his wife are also active in their church family.
