  • February 2010 FirstHealth and Surgery Center of Pinehurst appeal the state's denial of its CON for an ambulatory surgery center in Hoke County

  • January 2010 the state denies FirstHealth and Surgery Center of Pinehurst's CON for an ambulatory surgery center in Hoke County

  • January 2010 Cape Fear Valley announces it will file a certificate of need (CON) application with the state to build a hospital in Hoke County
  • December 2009 the state re-aligns Hoke County to be in a planning district with Moore and Cumberland counties

  • December 2009 FirstHealth and Cape Fear Valley each appeal the state's decision allowing two hospitals
  • November 2009 FirstHealth announces that the N.C. Division of Health Service Regulation approved the health system’s request to construct Hoke Community Hospital.
  • On June 15, 2009 FirstHealth applied to the state for permission to construct Hoke Community Hospital. The Hospital will have an emergency department, cardiac diagnostics, imaging and inpatient and outpatient services
