It has been an amazing year for nursing at FirstHealth of the Carolinas. Susan Davey (director, acute care/nursing at Montgomery Memorial Hospital), Allison Duckworth (nursing executive at Richmond Memorial Hospital) and I would like to extend a special invitation for you to learn more about us.
We are all extremely proud of the news, received in June 2011 from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, indicating Magnet Re-Designation for FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital and initial designation for the FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital campus. Magnet Designation formally recognizes our commitment to nursing excellence and our legacy of compassionate care and high competence in nursing care.
Our nurses challenge the status quo in their desire to be involved in clinical decision-making and in the opportunity to participate in a variety of clinical improvement and education councils.
In nursing, we work as a team. This means involving all disciplines. By working together and combining our expertise and experience, we can provide exceptional care to our patients and their families.
Working together is part of FirstHealth’s vision statement. In this collaborative environment, we have the opportunity to learn from each other and improve our clinical skills while providing our patients with exceptional care.
We focus on continuous improvement of clinical outcomes and customer satisfaction while ensuring that our staff has the essential resources to provide the exceptional patient experience.
Susan, Allison and I find great joy in working with all levels of nursing and watching these outstanding people grow personally and professionally. It is our privilege to serve as nursing leaders. We recognize that success comes only with the collaborative efforts of all members of our team as they work together to provide quality, patient-centered care every day.
