Melissa Herman, Program Director
Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator
Melissa earned her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Immaculata College in Immaculata, Pa. She has worked in various roles including inpatient care, outpatient counseling and long-term care consulting before finding her passion in diabetes. Melissa has been with FirstHealth for more than 13 years. She is a certified diabetes educator, certified in mental health first aid and is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
Lynn Quick, R.N., Nurse Educator
Lynn earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Sandhills Community College. She has worked for FirstHealth for more than 14 years. Prior to joining the Diabetes & Nutrition Education Center, Lynn worked in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Moore Regional and the cardiac rehabilitation program. She also has nursing experience in Home Health and Long Term Care. Lynn is certified in mental health first aid and is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
Emily Colthart, Registered Dietitian
Emily received her Masters of Public Health degree in nutrition from
the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and became a registered
dietitian in 2010. Prior to joining the Diabetes and Nutrition Education
Center, she worked as an outpatient dietitian with the FirstHealth
Centers for Health & Fitness and as a clinical dietitian at Moore
Regional Hospital.
Stacy earned her Bachelors in Nutrition from UNC-Chapel Hill and her
Masters in Nutrition from UNC-Greensboro. She has worked in various roles
including Clinical Dietitian for Moore Regional Hospital, Clinical Nutrition
Manager for Richmond Memorial Hospital and Health Educator with Community
Health Services. She became a Registered Dietitian in 2006 and a Certified
Diabetes Educator in 2012. She is a member of the American Association
of Diabetes Educators.
