My purpose in writing this letter is to express our deepest
appreciation for the superb professional assistance that Mrs. Raisig
received from FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital and from Dr. Nick
G. Cavros and your nursing staff.
Dr. Cavros was very understanding and professional in administering
cardiac catheterization to my wife, as was your nursing staff. R.N. Giulia
Murray was most helpful to my wife as were R.N. Alice Ball, LPN Crystal
Tillman and Nursing Assistant Marlene O’Hara during the entire procedure
and afterwards. Please pass on to each of them our sincere thanks.

Thank you
so very much for the good
care and concern you
(Richmond Home Health)
showed during the time you
visited me. Every visit was
both pleasant and professional.
You helped to turn what could
have been unpleasant visits
into very pleasant ones. I love
and appreciate each and every
one of you and thank you and
remember you forever.
I wish you success with all of
your people.

On Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005,
our first child, a baby girl, was born at FirstHealth Moore Regional
Hospital. I wanted to write a note of thanks to all involved before the
details of that great day are gone.
From the time we checked in for our scheduled induction to the
time we left the hospital two days later, I really felt the care my daughter
and I received was unsurpassable. Although, luckily, our labor
and delivery was without complication, the diligence of all the staff
we came into contact with—from the nurses in the delivery room to
the lady who delivered our meals to the nurse who managed to rustle
me up a cup of hot tea at 3 a.m. one morning—was nothing short of
professional, courteous and caring. I had recently read that Moore
Regional received a nomination for an award owing to the excellent
care on the labor ward, and none is more deserving.
In particular, we would like to thank a few very special people: Dr.
Walter Fasolak, who delivered our baby in the middle of the night, and
registered nurses Lynn Wainwright and Robin
Melton. I could not have done it without placing
myself in their more than capable hands in the
delivery room.
The team at the Southern Pines Women’s
Health Center also deserves a big thanks from us
for the excellent care they provided before and
during our pregnancy, the complimentary baby
classes they hold and having a nursing line devoted
to answering my silly first-time pregnancy
questions.
Thanks again.

I wanted to write this letter to let you
know how much I appreciate the care that was given to my
two girls and me after a head-on collision on Halloween
night. My family had nothing but good things to say about
how the ER staff treated my girls. I took comfort in knowing
they would take care of them when I was unable to be
with them.
As for myself, I have been employed at the hospital
going on 10 years and I have gotten to know a lot of people
there. When the wheels of the EMS stretcher hit the
pavement outside the ER, I said, “Thank God, I’m home,”
because I knew I was going to be taken care of and I was.
Everyone from rolling in the door to rolling out was
great. Thank you to my FirstHealth family for all the
thoughts, prayers, gifts, calls, love and glorious concern
for my girls and me.

The summer
2005 issue of your FirstHealth of
the Carolinas magazine featuring
“Aging Well” was outstanding.
I found article
after article really hit
home for me, so much
so that I would greatly
appreciate receiving
more copies to distribute
to friends and family.
What an amazing
portfolio of services you
have and are providing
to the people of the
Sandhills. I look forward
to receiving these copies,
one of which I plan to
provide to the president
of the Foundation at my
local hospital.

I wanted to write to tell you
what a good group of people you have working at
FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. First and foremost,
I want to let you know what an excellent staff
you have in Food & Nutrition. I want all of them to
pat themselves on the back because they went out of
their way to make sure I got everything I wanted on
my trays at mealtime and in-between meals as well.
Second, the Four Medical staff is the best bunch
of people to be taking care of you or any member of
your family. To me, the registered nurses and nursing
assistants on this floor are really good friends of
mine. I just want to say to each and every one of you,
“Thank you so much for the care you all gave to me.”

On the evening of Nov. 22, 2005, I was a surgical patient on the
orthopaedic floor at FirstHealth Moore Regional
Hospital. The care I received was reminiscent
of several years ago when I was a surgical nurse
when kindness and caring for the patient was a
priority.
Shelley Williams and Rosemary DeCarlo-Cooley were my primary care nurses, and they
personified my idea of what skilled, professional
nursing should be.
FirstHealth can be proud to have these wonderful
nurses on its staff. We are new to the area,
and we feel comforted in knowing such considerate
care is nearby.

As a registered nurse for 30 years
now working in acute care, teaching in an ADN program and
practicing in public health, I realize that I have a very critical
eye and expectations regarding nursing care. All of my expectations
were met by your staff during our seven-day experience.
Our parents, John and Virginia Davis, were patients in
FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital before Christmas.
All of your staff was professional and caring. Not only were
they advocates for the patients, but they were sensitive to the
family’s needs to be aware and involved in this very difficult
situation.
I want to specifically recognize
Jackie Gilks, R.N. As an R.N., I
certainly appreciated her professionalism,
caring and marvelous ability
to assess all aspects of the situation
(physical, emotional and spiritual)
and then defining a plan that was best
for the patient. It is with pride that
I recognize Jackie as a true professional.

The purpose of this letter is to commend
Susan Rodominski, a registered nurse in the ACU/Recovery
Room at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital for being
so attentive as to observe an unusual “blip” in my heartbeat
monitor. I have a pacemaker, and she called Dr. Ker Boyce
who came and corrected the situation.
My wife and I have been in the hospital many times and
have always been pleased with our care.
