FirstHealth will file a certificate of need application to the State of North Carolina on June 16, 2014, requesting that the State approve the 25 beds available in the service area to expand health care services at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
This is the first opportunity in 10 years and the first opportunity since relocating 8 acute care beds to the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital – Hoke Campus for Moore Regional Hospital to increase its number of acute care beds. Currently, Moore Regional is licensed to operate 312 acute care beds. For several reasons, Moore Regional projects to experience an increase in acute days of care between 2014 and 2019, and a need for the additional 25 acute care beds exists. These reasons include:
- FirstHealth is on the cutting edge of patient care in developing new programs with physicians and payors driving demand.
- FirstHealth is expanding and growing market share by placing additional physicians in outlying communities.
Moore Regional’s tertiary care services support 1.2 million residents and 12 primary care hospitals in its 15‐county central North Carolina service area. Moore Regional must continually improve and expand its facilities, technology, and specialized services to remain on the forefront of health care delivery and a valued asset to the communities that it serves.
Please voice your support for FirstHealth’s plan to increase the number of acute care beds at Moore Regional by completing and submitting the information below by June 30, 2014.
