Blocked arteries are more common in patients who are diabetic or who smoke. The usual cause of this narrowing is a cholesterol deposit in the arteries. There are many diagnostic tests to determine the extent of the blocked arteries. Commonly used diagnostic tests include Angiography, CT Scanning, MRI and Ultrasound imaging.

Symptoms of blocked arteries in the leg or abdomen include:

  • Cramping
  • Tingling
  • Numbness and non healing ulcers
  • Coolness in the affected limb
