The aorta is the largest artery in your body. An aortic aneurysm occurs when a part of the aorta develops a weakness, enlarges and often continues to grow. The risk for rupture increases as the aneurysm grows. Surgeons typically repair aneurysms utilizing a synthetic graft. When appropriate, our vascular team also performs a less invasive technique of aortic stent graph placement.
