Dr. Mitchell received extensive training in bariatric surgery at East Carolina University, one of the world’s leading bariatric surgery centers.

He has performed hundreds of primary and revisional bariatric surgeries, the majority of these laparoscopically.  He is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
