Lymphedema is a collection of fluid that causes swelling (edema) in the arms and legs. The increase in swelling can cause discomfort and limited use of the affected limb. Occupational Therapists at FirstHealth Centers for Rehabilitation are specially trained to provide an effective therapy for Lymphedema known as Complete Decongestive Therapy. A non-invasive treatment, Complete Decongestive Therapy involves four components: manual lymph drainage, compression therapy, exercise and skin care.
