Patients recovering from surgery or have neurological disorders often need to work to regain lost function. At the FirstHealth Centers for Rehabilitation, the rehabilitation team works together to provide a seamless transition from hospital to home. The ultimate goal is to help every patient regain the highest possible level of functioning and achieve an improved quality of life.

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Center consistently ranks among the top rehabilitation facilities in the region and nation in the percentage of patients who are able to return home after receiving rehabilitation services.

How much do Inpatient Rehab Center patients improve?
Staff members at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital’s Center for Inpatient Rehabilitation follow their patients closely as they improve. Our facility is fully credentialed by UDSMR, which provides us with a report that compares our performance with other inpatient rehabilitation centers.

Below is information that patients and family members should know about FirstHealth’s inpatient rehabilitation program.

Inpatient Rehab vs. Skilled Nursing Rehab
What’s the Difference?
Inpatient rehabilitation within a hospital provides care that is overseen by specialty-trained rehab physicians and nurses who coordinate care for patients’ medical and rehabilitation needs. Rehabilitation physicians and rehabilitation nurses must be available on a 24-hour basis, and a physician must see the patient regularly.

The multidisciplinary care provided by inpatient rehabilitation hospital physicians, nurses and therapists is unmatched by other health settings.

Rehab services are offered in other health settings, such as nursing homes, however there is no physician-on-duty requirement, no requirement for an interdisciplinary team approach or no minimum requirement for the amount of therapy provided.
