FirstHealth Infectious Diseases Program

Dr. Jawanda earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan and completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

During this time, he also received formal training in epidemiology at the University of North Carolina School of Public Health and in Microbiology with UNC Hospitals’ clinical microbiology laboratory.

He is Moore Regional’s first full-time infectious diseases specialist, having previously provided part-time infectious diseases coverage under a contract with UNC Hospitals.
