Paul Jawanda, M.D., infectious diseases specialist at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, is available to see patients on referral from primary care physicians and other medical specialists. Dr. Jawanda also provides consultation with other physicians for inpatients at Moore Regional Hospital who have infectious diseases, and he provides outpatient follow-up in the hospital’s Infectious Diseases Program clinic.
Dr. Jawanda is experienced in the evaluation and treatment of a wide range of infectious processes including:
- Complicated skin and soft tissue infections
- Osteomyelitis
- Joint and prosthetic joint infections
- Fevers of unknown origin
- Tuberculosis and atypical mycobacterial infections
- CNS infections including meningitis
- Suspected primary immunodeficiency
- Suspected travel-acquired and exotic infections
In addition, physicians can refer any patient for whom they feel an evaluation by an infectious diseases specialist is indicated. The clinic does not provide continuity care for patients with HIV/AIDS.
