When someone you love has a life-limiting illness, facing it can be the hardest thing you have ever had to do. You need help—someone to give you and your loved one support and understanding.
FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care provides this kind of help.
FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care for persons with life-limiting illnesses. Hospice also provides support for patients’ families. Professional staff and volunteers provide physical, emotional and spiritual assistance to enhance the quality of life for those served.
Patients can be referred to FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care by anyone, including family members and friends. Patients are admitted to the program with the approval of their physician. Hospice serves patients in their homes, as well as in nursing homes (centers) and assisted living facilities.
FirstHealth Grief Resource and Counseling Center
When you lose someone you love, the grief can be overwhelming. In the depths of sorrow, it is easy to feel lost, alone and troubled by other emotions—guilt, resentment, despair, confusion and fear—that you might not be able to talk about with family or friends.
At the FirstHealth Grief Resource and Counseling Center, we offer understanding, support and guidance for people whose lives are adrift in grief.
Our grief counselors are specially trained, experienced professionals who offer individual, family and group counseling. As soon as you call us, one of our counselors will meet with you and assess your needs. Then, together, you will decide what type of counseling or other support service is best for you. Some people like the empathy and peer support of group counseling, while others prefer private, individual sessions.
